Lydie was born in 1973 and lives in Saint-Jean-sur-Richelieu, Quebec.
With the exception of art lessons during her early school years, she has been a self-taught drawing and painting artist since she can remember and creating is a basic need in her daily life.
Her love for art is also shared with a love for animals. Lydie is looking for the expression, the personality and the strong character of the beast. It is important for her to capture this spirit essence in all her animal works.
Her painting practice was primarily acrylic in the early years. Today, her work is done with oil paint. Worked lean, it produces a velvety, smooth and silky matte effect. A composition of spheres and halos in pointillism of 18-carat comes to rest like a modern illumination lace. It is in this contrast that the animals find their places on nocturnal colors backgrounds.
Recently, her work has also touched textiles and geometry. Whether with gold ornaments backgrounds or in japanese art with the geishas and their costumes with beautiful floral motifs.
Lydie is influenced by many sculptors and animal painters of modern times as well as by the old masters. Her work has been recognized in galleries for 20 years now.
